Snap adds all-new features to Snapchat, including wrist-tracking to try on AR watches
Piaget, meanwhile, is taking advantage of the new ability for people to try on bracelets and watches, building on Snapchat’s existing tools that detect the face for makeup and eyewear try-on and feet for sneaker try-on.

While I've been fascinated with Augmented Reality (AR) technology as a user, I was not impressed with the capability of what the technology can do for brands as a marketer. It always felt gimmicky, childish and in most cases, not appealing for a proper business case - until now.

This collaboration between Piaget and Snapchat was very special. The obsession to share the passion for watchmaking came naturally to all of us working on this. This project didn't simply want to strap a watch on a wrist, but, strived to showcase the true capability of what AR technology can do. It can provide an immersive experience that you won't even be able to do in real life i.e. showcasing the individual components and mechanics of the watch movements. Despite it being a skeleton watch (transparent case), we marched on with overcoming all the technical challenges to deliver a one-of-a-kind AR experience.
